Where It Fits

Reach around obstacles, not only straight up

Choose an articulating boom lift when the platform must rise and travel horizontally over equipment, landscaping, roofs or other barriers.

01

Building and façade maintenance

Reach signs, windows, roofs and services where direct vertical access is blocked.

02

Utilities and lighting

Position technicians near streetlights, electrical installations or elevated infrastructure.

03

Industrial inspection

Work above machinery, pipe racks and structures that require up-and-over reach.

Good fit when

The task needs horizontal outreach or articulated access around an obstacle and the base can be positioned and stabilised safely.

Consider another solution when

Use a scissor lift when the task is directly above and a larger vertical platform is preferable. Use crawler access when terrain is the main constraint.

Specification Reference

Select operating height with the outreach task in mind

GKT catalogue models are trailer-mounted references. Confirm outreach diagram, stabiliser footprint and current specification before order.

Engineering Details

Articulated reach around the worksite

Boom sections, turntable, chassis, outriggers and platform controls combine vertical height with horizontal positioning.

01

Articulated boom sections

Multiple hinged arms create up-and-over access around structures and obstacles.

02

360-degree rotating base

The turntable positions the boom around the stabilised chassis.

03

Guarded work platform

The basket carries the permitted operator, tools and materials within rated load.

04

Hydraulic movement system

Cylinders control boom elevation, articulation and rotation.

05

Trailer chassis and outriggers

The towable base supports transport and establishes the working footprint before lifting.

Safety Configuration

Safety built around the operating condition

Boom lifts create a changing load radius. Stability depends on complete outrigger deployment, level setup, platform load and operation within the reach envelope.

01

Outrigger interlock or setup

All specified stabilisers are fully deployed on suitable bearing surfaces before boom movement.

02

Platform guardrails and gate

The guarded basket defines the operator work area.

03

Emergency stop and lowering

Ground and platform controls provide stop and recovery functions as configured.

04

Load and reach limits

Operation remains within the selected model’s capacity and outreach chart.

05

Rotation and exclusion zone

The boom sweep and chassis area are kept clear of people and obstacles.

06

Electrical and overhead clearance

Safe distance is maintained from power lines and overhead hazards.

Operating note:Never select a boom lift from maximum height alone. Confirm horizontal outreach, up-and-over height, platform load, outrigger footprint, ground bearing, wind and overhead electrical hazards.
Configurable by Project

Map the work point in height and distance

Frequently Asked Questions

Before you specify Articulating Boom Lift

How is an articulating boom different from a scissor lift?

A scissor lift primarily travels vertically. An articulating boom provides horizontal outreach and up-and-over access around obstacles.

Is maximum operating height the same as platform height?

No. Operating or working-height conventions may differ. Review the model’s platform height and complete reach chart before selection.

What is the platform load for the GKT reference series?

The catalogue table lists 180 kg. Confirm the current model specification and permitted occupants, tools and materials before order.

Why is horizontal outreach important?

The machine base may not sit directly below the task. Required distance and obstacle geometry determine whether the platform can reach safely.

What ground is required?

The chassis and each outrigger need firm bearing, acceptable level and adequate clearance from edges, trenches and underground voids.

Can it work near electrical lines?

Electrical hazards require planned clearance and appropriate procedures. The machine should not be assumed insulated unless specifically designed and certified as such.
